Just your average Saturday…
Hannah went to get pedicures and go shopping with her mom. Calls around 1:30pm to see if Douglas has had lunch yet, because she’s on her way home. Of course – he hadn’t waited to eat, so she got home annoyed and upset.
Just your average fall Saturday in Illinois – yard chores need to be done, so Hannah sent Douglas outside to rake leaves while she worked on inside projects. Soon after, Douglas calls the Amazon Echo device in the living room.
Hey come outside, I made you something I want you to see…
To which Hannah responds “it’s cold outside, and I’m wearing shorts, why do I have to come out there?”
Douglas, “just put some pants on and come out here quick, I made you a present…”
Hannah lollygags around inside, finds some pants, and goes outside 10 minutes later. Douglas hands over a “bowl”, that he even later admits would be the worst bowl he’d ever made. She’s says “oh, thanks babe, what am I supposed to do with this?” Put things in it of course, what else would you do with a bowl!
Several minutes go by – Hannah finally goes to head back inside because it is cold and no leaves are getting raked.
He grabs her arm and says “that’s not really your gift…”
She turns around to Douglas down on one knee, almost knocks him down.
… will you marry me?
YES, of course!
